Finding Confidence In the Corner
You know that feeling when you walk into a big party, and suddenly the room feels too loud, too full, too much? You find yourself gravitating towards the edges, wondering, why am I even here? Everyone else seems to have it together — they’re cooler, more confident, like they’ve got life all figured out. You, on the other hand, feel out of place.
So, you hang back in the corner, hoping to blend in. But then, out of nowhere, someone starts talking to you. It’s casual at first, just small talk, but soon you’re sharing stories, offering your own experiences, and realizing maybe — just maybe — you have something to offer too.
As the conversation flows, your confidence grows. You start talking to more people, and engaging in new conversations, and by the end of the night, you’re no longer that person tucked away in the corner. You’re laughing, connecting, and feeling lighter. The weight of self-doubt you walked in with has disappeared.
Suddenly, you find yourself asking, why didn’t I do this sooner? The fear you felt wasn’t real. It was just a wall you’d built in your head. And with one conversation, it came crumbling down.
It’s funny how sometimes all it takes is a little nudge to realize we belong in the room — that we’ve belonged all along.
