Not All Advice Is Good Advice: Be Mindful of What You Consume

We live in a world overflowing with advice. It’s everywhere — from social media gurus and well-meaning friends to books, podcasts, and motivational speakers. While it’s great to learn from others, not all advice is good advice, and not all advice is meant for you.

Canva made me do it (there was no good picture on the internet anyway, and I am already paying $$$ for Canva Pro, and I have free will, so why not)

Here’s why you need to be mindful of the advice you consume.

1. Everyone’s Journey Is Different

What worked for someone else might not work for you. People’s experiences, goals, and circumstances are entirely unique. One-size-fits-all advice rarely applies in the real world.

I used to ask for advice from as many people as possible, thinking the more perspectives I had, the better my decisions would be. But instead of clarity, I ended up with confusion. I was constantly doubting myself and redirecting my efforts because I was trying to follow everyone’s advice at once.

The reality is that someone else’s success formula might not align with your values, capabilities, or vision. What helped them thrive may not be the right move for you, and that’s perfectly okay.

2. The Wrong Advice Can Lead to Self-Doubt
